Exploring Eze, France

Eze ~ The Charming City over the French Riviera

Eze is an insanely gorgeous city. It is seriously a dreamland. Picture yourself in an enclosed castle on top of a hill overlooking the French Riviera. That is Eze. It feels as though you are walking into castle walls and exploring inside an ancient city. This is the place to relax. Enjoy a long lunch and shop the quaint stores in the village. Explore and marvel at the unbelievable views.IMG_3816

Once off the bus walk up the hill (follow the signs to Chateau Eze) to see all that this city is known for. While Eze is an amazing place, I seemed to make some bad mistakes. Please learn from my mistakes! Here’s my three pieces of advice:

  1. Plan your day down to the minute to guarantee an easy bus ride
  2. Buy a ticket to the Jardin Exotique d’Eze to see the view that makes Eze famous
  3. Make sure you have plenty of time when you arrive to fully relax and enjoy the city

The views from Eze are breathtaking. Just take a look…

Another tip: It can be hard to find jaw-dropping views considering that you are facing stone walls the majority of the time. I found out later that the truly amazing views are from the Jardin Exotique d’Eze. The entrance fee is 6 euro (2.50 for students) but definitely worth it for the views. I don’t know a better view of the French Riviera.

I didn't take this picture, but I just had to show you this view!

Getting to Eze is very tricky. The best route from Nice is to take the 82 bus to Eze Village. For detailed information about transportation and more in Eze, check out my All the Planning Details for Eze post.
